Flowscape Product Releases November 2021

FlowPlanner is available in both Web App and Mobile App

Flowscape is delighted to present our new system updates for our Space Management Solution. The update consists of both smaller system improvements and new solution packages available for both partner and clients.

To further support our clients in their day-to-day work, Flowscape is introducing an improved
building selector for the Flowmap, automatic check in via Flowscape’s desk dongle, and several user interface improvements. We are also happy to add two new solution packages to our portfolio, Flowscape Parking Management and our FlowPlanner solution.

The new system functions will be available for clients and partners from November, 2021.

Parking Management

The Flowscape Parking Management solution is a feature-rich and easy-to-use solution designed to optimize employees’ car parking experience at the office. Its intuitive mobile and web user interfaces allow employees to quickly find and book parking spaces in advance or upon arrival at the office.


FlowPlanner is our new web application that empowers employees to efficiently plan their attendance in the office. Flowplanner enables staff to tag specific colleagues in order to view when they will be in the office, so that they can then book the same days if they need to collaborate on project work. Employees can set up a ‘colleagues list’ to scan all of their future office attendances with just one click. And with one further click a desk or workspace can be booked.

Flowplanner is also a useful application for Building Managers to monitor office attendance and to ensure that it never exceeds the building capacity. if the maximum capacity is reached for a certain day, the employee will be guided to book a space on another day. Building Managers can also view an attendance report for any specific day.

Automatic Desk Check-in

Further automating the booking process is an important step to bridge the gap between virtual software solutions and real-life office environments. To meet client’s automation requirements, Flowscape now provides an automated check-in solution powered by our unique USB sensor. The Flowscape USB sensor is the first smart office solution that eliminates the need for human interaction from the booking confirmation process.

Automatic check-in for booked desks

The USB sensor automatically checks in a user when their computer is connected to a docking station, without the need for any interaction. The USB sensor uses advanced technology to sense which user has occupied the seat at the specific workspace and then registers their name on the FlowMap. The Flowscape USB sensor is therefore an easy and effective way to facilitate colleague finding in any type of office environment. The Flowscape sensor sends a warning notice to the user’s computer if they have taken someone else’s booked workspace. The Desk Dongle automatically releases a desk after a defined no-show period.

Automatic check-in for ad-hoc seating

Users do not need to go into the Flowscape app to book a desk. They can just connect their laptop to a docking station and then the desk automatically gets booked to them. When the ad hoc user leaves, the desk can be automatically released after a defined grace period. The grace period makes sure that bookings can be kept if the laptop goes into sleep mode or if user attends a quick meeting.

Produce accurate presence data

The USB sensor has several advantages over the traditional PIR presence sensors. PIR sensors are passive so cannot determine which person is sitting at a desk, they simply detect that someone is sitting at desk, and they cannot distinguish between someone working at a desk or temporarily sitting there using the desk phone or talking to a colleague.

Flowscape’s USB sensors not only measure the total length of time between docking-in and docking-out, but they also detect the absence of typing or mouse activity on the laptop. This enables Flowscape to create two occupancy KPIs: Perceived Occupancy (Time from Dock-in to Dock-out) and Real Occupancy (Perceived Occupancy less Inactivity time).
